Not sure how to get started publishing your book? We can help!

At Space to Write Author Services, we want to help you on your writing journey whether that’s offering general advice, doing a custom report, being your on-call production or marketing manager, or giving you the tools to DIY your first book launch.

If you’ve got your first completed manuscript and need help deciding what to do now, we can offer you a tailored plan with steps to help make that first launch a success. This plan is customized to your knowledge level and experience and is designed to fill in any skill or knowledge gaps you may have.

Topics the customized plan could touch on may include:

  • How and where to research cover artists and cover trends specific to your genre.

  • How to research the best categories to place your book.

  • How to start building an author presence and brand.

  • Steps to have a successful launch day.

  • How to build on the momentum of your first launch.

  • How to network with your fellow authors.

  • Answering general questions about KDP, KU, Draft2Digital, IngramSpark, etc.

If that is too much detail for you, we also offer 45 minute consultation sessions where we chat about your project and where you can ask any general questions you may have. Please note that anything involving a custom strategy, research, or very specific questions would require commissioning a report or a strategy.

About Me

My name is Robin and I have over 10 years of experience in publishing and marketing. I spent four years at a writer nonprofit where it was my job to have answers to the most common writing and publishing questions. I also designed and recruited people for professional development series, which I often sat in on and learned from. I spent a year as a tradpub publicist at a small publishing house and successfully booked authors at signings and organized coverage in local media.

My most relevant experience though, is the four years I spent as the publishing manager for a bestselling (2 million+) SF&F author releasing 8-10 books per year. I can set up a book on KDP in my sleep at this point! I also had experience conducting competitor research, plus recruited and managed cover and concept artists.

I have a degree in creative writing and a diploma in journalism studies, and am an aspiring writer myself. There are a lot of bad actors out there trying to prey on peoples’ dreams of being published. My practice actively pushes back against that. I won’t suggest that you do anything that I don’t think will genuinely help you succeed.

Please get in touch if you are interested in engaging my services. I’m here to help!
